I was hoping that the latest update would address the issue before I commented. 21 answers 6 votes Kuba Borucki edited For anyone still stuck, I managed to resolve this by going to manage windows credentials (control panel->user accounts->credential manager) and deleting anything with mentioned in the name under the generic credentials section. Note: This isn't specific to Sourcetree this is how git works. Original answer You have to do a force push, because topic branch is already published and you are rewriting history. After it is enabled you can check 'Force Push' check box in the 'Push' dialog. If you want to delete the develop branch, you'll first need to create and switch to another one. 33 Update: SourceTree 1.9.1 You can enable force push in Tools/Options/Git/Enable Force Push. It only happens when SourceTree has been open for a while. You cannot delete a branch that you are currently on. ![]()
